The Strada Stretta Concept, under the auspices of the Valletta 2018 Foundation, present, Bizet's 'Carmen', under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci. The event is being held in collaboration with the French Embassy in Malta.
As always with Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci an 'out-of-the-box' novel artistic production is being offered to the public. This is based on Schembri Bonaci's theatre philosophy and whose past productions always provoked debate and intrigue. Whilst still respecting and remaining loyal to the music and libretto, his production is playing on a new approach as to how one could deal with Opera in its unfortunate terminal stage.
The opera will be held in Strada Stretta -- just around 'Splendid', where the character of the famous street will be captured and amalgamated into this opera.
