Now in its forth year following the success of IT SNOWS, I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT and ECLIPSE, Masquerade Teen Company 2017 presents the devised performance BOO[M].
In a not too distant future, a group of teens have been meeting in secret. A number of luxuries have been banned from their world, including music. Jake, a rebellious teen in the group, decides to play some music but the others know it will get them into trouble… Unfortunately they are found. Once captured, they are locked away and made to listen to the most horrible sounds, making their childhood nightmares come to life. However, not all hope is lost as from all this chaos come two imaginary friends – Shark and Squid. They help the group fight their fears together by expressing themselves through music.
BOO[M] is a performance devised by the Masquerade Teen Company members, written and directed by Maria Cristina Caruana.
BOO[M] is on in Malta for one night only on 27 MAY 2017 at 7.00pm at BLUE BOX - M Space in Msida. It will also be performed at the ROSE THEATRE STUDIO in Kingston, UK, as part of the International Youth Arts Festival, 9-16 July.
