ECO MARKET MALTA

at the beautiful nature grounds of The Gaia Foundation

Saturday 25 May to Sunday 26 May
Malta Gaia Foundation Golden Bay Mellieha

Eco Market Malta has announced its first event which will take place on the 25 and 26 May at The Gaia Foundation in Ghajn Tuffieha – an event that is focused on all things good for people and planet.

Bringing together a handpicked and carefully vetted selection of eco-artisans and businesses, as well as a jam-packed schedule of events, things will kick off at 11am and finish at 6pm on both days. Running in parallel to the market will be a number of workshops for adults and children, as well as talks, and a chance to get involved in some free yoga and meditation.

The vendors that are taking part have all met a number of eco-standards and requirements both in terms of the way they conduct their business, and the way they will exhibit at the market.

On offer to members of the public will be a range of crafts, fashion accessories, and clothing as well as items for the home including kitchen utensils, decorations, and up-cycled household items.

Beauty and cleaning products that are vegan, organic and environmentally friendly will also be available, as will tea, juices, desserts, healthy food, and quintessentially Maltese, edible treats.

The selection of goods on offer is perfect for anyone looking to take steps towards leading a more sustainable lifestyle, but doesn’t know where to start.

Main sponsors of the event are Viva City, creators of rooftop ecosystems and green walls, and The Veg Box, a local urban farm and purveyor of organic produce. Monthly sponsorship comes from TheHealthStore.com.mt, Beleaf, Weleda and Berkley.

Entrance to the market is free, as are most of the activities with the exception of a few that may ask for a small donation to cover the cost of materials. Eco Market is a 100% non-profit organisation that is focussed on creating a community of responsible businesses and conscious consumers. Not only is it a great place to check out eco and environmentally friendly products on the market, but it is a way to meet like-minded people, whilst expanding your knowledge.

No one is living a perfect sustainable lifestyle, but we can all take small steps towards improving our footprint and being more kind to the world around us. At Eco Market, we can show you how easy these little changes and steps can be.

Single-use plastics are banned from the event and visitors are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles as drinking water will be provided thanks to Island Beverages. In addition to this, anyone who pre-ordered an Eco Goodie Bag during the crowd-funding campaign back in March, is reminded that they can collect it from the market.

Put the dates in your diary and come to the Eco Market to learn, share, discuss, and ultimately help to make Malta, and the world a better and more eco-friendly place. Be the change you want to see!
