European Foundation for Support of Culture with MRF Foundation proudly announce Malta International Music Festival & Competition held from 27th of April to 10th of May 2016. The goal of the Malta International Music Festival is to provide the best learning experience for everyone by combining an intensive educational programme with an outstanding concert series presented by world-class musicians and participants of the festival. It is undoubtedly an event in the Maltese cultural calendar, which cannot be overlooked by those interested in Music, culture or the art of piano, violin, cello, clarinet and voice or by those who have at heart the improving of performing standards of our youth. It is a cultural event founded with the intent to improve music education of youngsters in Malta by offering high-level tuition and opportunities to perform in front of an audience. Students and teachers alike will also broaden their horizons due to their coming in contact with pianists from abroad.  The Festival aims to create a platform for young musicians to exhibit their talents and learn from acclaimed professors while being able to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Maltese islands. All the participants, apart from the opportunities to attend the master-classes of the world famous professionals, take part in 2-3 concerts in the best venues around the Islands of Malta and take part in Piano and Voice competitions with the internationally acknowledged musicians as Jury members. It has always been the festival organizers’ goal to combine education, culture and tourism while simultaneously enriching the cultural life of Malta with the presence of the world acclaimed professors and talented young musicians from various countries as well as from Malta thus creating a really cosmopolitan, friendly and professional atmosphere. Programme: 24th of April, 6:00 pm – Piano recital of Regina Chernychko – winner of International Piano Competitions, MCC, Temi Zammit Hall, Valletta 28th of April, 7:00 pm – Vocal concert of the students from studio “Atelier Lyrique” with Andriana Yordanova – Bulgarian-born soprano, P. Tchaikovsky Hall, Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Valletta. Free entrance. 30th of April-10th of May – Pianoforte & Vocal Master Classes, Studio at Manoel Theatre & P. Tchaikovsky Hall, Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Valletta 1st of May, 7:00 pm – Evening Vocal concert of participants of Festival, Tchaikovsky Hall, Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Valletta. Free entrance . 2nd of May, 7:30 pm – Trio A. Bouzlov (one of the most vivid and talented cellists of the next generation, prize winner of International Tchaikovsky Competition), D. Tschaikowskaja (young virtuoso pianist from Germany, laureate of international competitions) and A. Margulis (the youngest professor in Europe) – concert dedicated to the 110th Anniversary of D. Shostakovich, MCC, Temi Zammit Hall, Valletta. Free entrance . 3rd of May, 7:00 pm – Evening concert of participants of the Festival, Palazzo De La Salle, Valletta. Free entrance . 4th of May, 7:30 pm – Evening concert of participants of Festival, St. James Cavaleiri, Valletta.Free entrance. 5th of May, 7:00 pm – Concert dedicated to the 125th Anniversary of S. Prokofiev, P. Tchaikovsky Hall, Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Valletta. Free entrance . 6th of May, 6:30 pm – Piano recital of Kristina Golubeva – well known composer & teacher of pianoforte classes in Malta, P. Tchaikovsky Hall, Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Valletta 6th of May, 12:30 pm – Lunchtime concert of participants, Oratory of St. Francis, Valletta. Free entrance . 6th of May, 7:30 pm – Evening concert of participants of the Festival, Palazzo De La Salle, Valletta. Free entrance. 6th -8th of May – I Round of Pianoforte Competition (Composer-In-Residence A. Shor), Robert Samut Hall, Floriana 7th of May, 7:30 pm – Vocal Recital by Julie Zahra ft. pianist Charlene Farrugia (in collaboration with Malta Philarmonic orchestra), Robert Samut Hall, Floriana 8th of May, 7:00 pm – duo Julian Milkis (leading voice for his instrument in the field of jazz) & Giuliano Mazzoccante (famous Italian musician, the student of legendary Russian pianist Lazar Berman), (“Verdiana” by A. Shor – Malta Premiere), MCC, Temi Zammit Hall, Valletta. Free entrance. 8th-10th of May – Vocal Competition (Composer-In-Residence A. Shor), Tchaikovsky Hall, Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Valletta 9th of May, 7:00 pm – Concert of vocal participants, Messina Palace, Malta. Free entrance. 9th-10th of may – II Round of Pianoforte Competition, MCC, Temi Zammit Hall, Valletta 10th of May, 7:00 pm – Gala concert of winners, MCC, Temi Zammit Hall, Valletta. Free entrance.
