If you’re looking for an event with a difference, then this it!
The Manikata Pumpkin Fest will this year enter its 9th edition and shall take place on Sunday 30 October between 10am and 5pm.
Enjoy a day of free entertainment, country and western music, live stage performances with singing, acting and dancing and a display of vintage agricultural equipment. Because the Pumpkin Fest takes place on the eve of Halloween, children attending the Feast are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and to participate in a treasure hunt! They can also look forwards to exciting games and activities such as face-painting, treasure hunts and sand painting and a bouncy castle.
Manikata is arguably Malta’s most remote village! It overlooks Golden Bay and is famous for its picturesque views and fresh air. Once in the locality, we recommend combining a visit to the Pumpkin Fest with a morning walk along the dramatic coastline of the Majjistral National Park and its beautiful views of the massive, world-famous Ta’ Cenc cliffs of Gozo.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, re-fuel on mouth-watering dishes all made from pumpkin. Typical savoury pumpkin pies, pasta and rice dishes, and a number of sweets and cakes will be on sale. Visitors have opportunity to buy pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, as well as other types of fresh local produce grown in the fields around Manikata.
A park and ride service is will also be provided throughout the day from the Hal-Ferh car park behind Golden Bay to and from the event.
This event is being organised by Koperattiva Rurali Manikata with the support of the Mellieha Local Council, the Malta Tourism Authority, and the Parish Pastoral Council of Manikata.
