Canadian singer Rebecca Binnendyk is one of the most positive people you'll ever meet, and she possesses a dynamic personality chock full of energy, humour and style. Those character traits help make her a charismatic and engaging performer. Her talent is showcased on her album 'Some Fun Out of Life', released through prestigious independent label ALMA Records.
Her first written and recorded material are showcased on the album. 'Stars' was prompted by the death of Amy Winehouse, while the moving 'Live Now' (a co-write with Don Breithaupt) was inspired by the death of Rebecca's 8 year old cousin. She continues to educate herself in song-writing and looks forward to recording more in the near future.
Regular public and corporate gigs have seen Rebecca front the 18-piece Canadian Big Band, a talent-heavy group featuring many alumni of the internationally-renowned Boss Brass. With smaller ensembles, she has performed several sold-out shows at Waterloo's The Jazz Room and has played the prestigious Toronto club The Jazz Bistro, among others.
Rebecca will be joining the Carlo Muscat and his quartet for a live performance at The Jazz Cave Restaurant on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th February.
