The megalithic temple complex of Mnajdra situated on Malta’s southern coast dates back to 3600BC and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to experts, the South Temple of the three temple complex is alligned with the sun's trajectory in the sky that occurs specifically in the Spring and Autumn equinoxes and the Summer and Winter solstices. Heritage Malta, the agency in charge of administering this prehistoric stone structure organises a special guided tour at sunrise on 20th and 21st March to witness the sun’s rays as these project themselves through the South Temple's main doorway and light up its main axis. A limited number of tickets are available for this event and can be purchased from Heritage Malta’s sites and museums.
