The Life and Death of Martin Lurther King Producer: Mediterranean Conference Centre Venue: Mediterranean Conference Centre, M. A. Grima Hall Price: Morning Performances Euro 7 , Evenings Euro 20, Students Euro 10 The play explores the spiritual and political journey of a once humble preacher raised to the status of icon and , tragically martyr. It picks up the story at Memphis just a few moments before Martin Luther king was murdered and delves into the conflicts , inner demons, guilt and fragility of this great leader. With selected flashbacks it depicts dramatic moments of his struggles, and those of civil right movement members. This dynamic piece of physical theatre combines documentary realism, stylised acting, masks and song to create a challenging drama with wide appeal. These life stories find a common trail through our own stories. The philosophy behind his legendary "I have a dream" which shook Washington and the world, remains as valid as ever in these troubled times we live in. Sponsored by the embassy of the United States of America and supported by the Ministry of Education and Employment
