Description
Summer in Malta is punctuated by spectacular fireworks as every town and village celebrates the festa (feast) of its local patron saint in style. On any weekend between May and October, at least three or four towns put on their lavish finery, the streets are decorated with colourful hand-painted banners, the churches are bedecked with sparkling silver and rich damask while brass bands lead the joyous celebrations. The festivities culminate with amazing pyrotechnic displays often synchronised to music. Since we visit on the eve of the festa, the limelight of the tour is the fireworks display. The procession will be on the day of the festa. Hop on board for a fireworks tour like no other and immerse yourself in a quintessential Maltese celebration for a true taste of local culture. And don’t forget to pick up some nougat, a festa staple. Each week, we visit a different Maltese Village depending on which Village Feast is celebrated that week.
