Description

Explore the south of Malta on a half-day tour. Explore the picturesque town of Marsaxlokk, see examples of the iconic Luzzu and Kajjik boats, and see a historic British fort near Kalanka Bay. Enjoy pickup at your accommodation and head to Zejtun, traditionally known as Città Beland, a title conferred by the grandmaster of the Order of the Knights of Malta in 1797. Head to the Museum of Art and History and see its collection of paintings, sculptures, memorabilia, and archaeological findings. Marvel at statues from the Good Friday Procession. Next, continue to the Luqa Briffa Garden, also known as Ġnien tal-Kmand. Learn the fascinating history of this garden, built by the British and given as a gift to the villagers. Return to the van and drive to Marsaxlokk, a small traditional fishing village. Head straight for the Marsaxlokk Market, a bustling marketplace along the shore. Stop to see the traditional fishing boats, the Luzzu and the Kajjik, used by local fishermen for centuries. Next, drive along the Delimara peninsula to see St Peter's Pool and Kalanka Bay. Drive past a lighthouse, a British fort, and the remains of a hospitaller battery can also be found on the peninsula. In the summer, enjoy a swim in the refreshing waters of Kalanka Bay. From October to May, enjoy a stroll through the countryside.
