Description

Learn about the craft of artisan soap making using the cold-process method. Settle into a serene rural location, surrounded by the Maltese countryside, and enjoy a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own soap to take home using the melt-and-pour method. Get greeted on location in a lovely outdoor area with coffee, tea, and local biscuits. Discuss the area and flora around you, and learn about the concept of growing herbs and flowers to be used in infusions and preparations that go into natural soaps, balms, and salves. Proceed inside the workshop and have an interesting discussion on the origin of soap, ingredients such as infused oils, butters, and essential oils, and methods used to craft soap from scratch. Experience and smell soaps in different stages of curing. During a short break, enjoy a walk around or make an infused tea which you can brew from herbs gathered as you walk the fields. Afterwards, do a hands-on session creating a small soap with the melt-and-pour method. Pour, add fragrance, color, and decorate your soap to take home as a memory of your visit.
