The attraction was created to suit all ages and attract a diverse audience utilising new generation 5D cinema technologies and featuring a detailed audio commentary in 17 different languages. An innovative, informative, educational, and existing experience for all ages, a stop at the Malta 5D show is a must for all tourists visiting the Maltese Islands! An experience unlike any other, the Malta 5D is a fully immersive audio-visual show which takes the audience on an unforgettable journey through the history and culture of Malta, it’s an amazing 3D film enhanced with special effects – leg ticklers, water spray, air blasts, scents and moving seats. Malta 5D takes you on an enchanting voyage to discover the thrilling events that shaped Malta’s history. Over the course of the show, you are taken back in time to witness the events that shaped the history of the Maltese archipelago, from the formation of prehistoric temples to the victory of the Knights of Malta at the Great Siege of 1565, to Malta’s heroic efforts during World War II. In addition to the show, you can also view the temporary exhibitions about Malta which are often on display in the lobby of the theatre. The duration of the audio-visual show is approximately 20 minutes. Option 2: Make it a day to remember, and in addition to the Malta 5D audio-visual show, take this expert-designed self-guided walking tour to experience Valletta’s magnificent heritage, visit key landmarks, discover hidden gems, all while relishing the impressive beauty and distinctive charm this city has to offer. This Audio Guide (available in English, French, German, Italian and Polish) includes various audio points prepared by a number of licensed guides to explore along a suggested route around the city's highlights. The route has been specifically designed to give you the most comprehensive tour of Valletta and to guide you around the main sites/landmarks in around 3½ / 4 hours. Immerse yourself in the beauty of this city, explore it at your own pace and time, learn about its glorious history, enjoy, and admire the many charms and treasures this city has to offer! When you book this tour, you will be provided with a download code for the mobile application which will allow you unlimited access to the audio guided tour on your own smartphone. Before you get going, download the required map, once the map is fully downloaded, no internet or Wi-Fi connection will be required to access the audio guided tour, this way you can also have the flexibility to navigate while offline at absolutely no additional costs for data roaming. To enrich your experience, various star-points along the route can be noticed with useful suggestions for shopping, restaurants, and additional points of interest such as museums and churches.

Important Information

  • Your ticket for the audio-visual show can be used on the day you have booked at any time during the opening hours of the theatre.
  • The opening hours of the theatre are Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM till 4:30 PM (last show) and Sundays or public holidays from 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM (last show), with shows screening every 30 minutes.
  • Public holidays in Malta are on the following dates: 1st of January, 10th of February, 19th of March, 31st of March, Good Friday (date changes according to the liturgical calendar), 1st of May, 7th of June, 29th of June, 15th of August, 8th of September, 21st of September, 8th of December, 13th of December and 25th of December.
  • The theatre is always closed on Christmas Day (25th of December) and on New Year's Day (1st of January).
  • If you book the option including the Valletta audio guide, the link with your username and password to activate your audio guide will be sent to you a day before the date you have booked.
