Description

Discover the beauty of the Sicilian coast on a boat tour from Avola. Admire the remains of the old Avola tuna fishery, snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the Plemmirio Marine Reserve, and take a walking tour of Ortigia. Depart from Avola and head north, with a first stop to admire the remains of the old Avola tuna fishery. Continue a slow navigation along the seafront, then the roundabout on the sea, Punta di Caponegro, and stop in front of the enchanting white cliff of Gallina. Resume navigation for another stop in the Gulf of Noto at Arenella and immediately afterwards in the crystal-clear waters of the Plemmirio Marine Reserve to do some snorkeling. Sicily Boats provides all participants with snorkeling equipment, such as fins, masks, and snorkels. Leave the Gulf of Noto to go as far as Ortigia, the island of Syracuse. Stop to allow a walking tour of the enchanting Ortigia. Take advantage of the stop to savor an aperitif with arancini, scones, fruit, soft drinks, beer, and Sicilian sparkling wine. Once the visit on foot on dry land is over, move back into the sea, to take a dip between the brackish waters of the sea and the fresh waters of the Fonte Aretusa spring; from here you can also admire the splendid Maniace Castle. Continue the tour among the recesses and caves of Syracuse including the lovers' cave, Pillirina cave, turtle cave, stalactite cave, and glasses cave. Arrive in the North Syracuse area, where you will find a wonderful bay with the ruins of the old Tonnara di Santa Panagia. In the mid-afternoon, begin to return, breaking up the crossing with a stop in the bay of Fontane Bianche and finally arriving at the port of departure.
