Description
Beware! It’s 1425, and you’ve arrived in a city shrouded in mystery city where surviving until tomorrow is nothing short of a miracle!
Tired of the same old tours that skim Malta’s history like a bland textbook? Then join our award-winning Travellers choice 2025 cultural experience instead!
Step boldly into the shadows of Medieval Mdina—the “Silent City” that, in 1425, was anything but silent.
Relive an age of civil wars and clashing ambitions, where danger lurked at every corner and Mdina’s alleyways carried whispers of scandal, betrayal, and forbidden love.
Join nobles scheming for supremacy, seafaring knights walking the line between piracy and chivalry, and ordinary Maltese caught in the chaos.
On this immersive walk, you won’t just learn about Malta's history, you’ll live it.
Your guide and host? A rather questionable documented rogue from Malta's medieval archives and fresh from the city's more... colourful establishments, hired by noble families who made Mdina great and whose titles shine brighter than their morals.
Guided by your roguish Maltese insider, (wearing in 15th-century clothing to better portray this documented rogue), you’ll walk the very streets where rebels once plotted, nobles schemed and lovers died!
Along the way, you’ll:
-Explore hidden lanes and shadowy corners where conspiracies brewed.
-Hear chilling tales of executions, sieges, and starvation that tested Mdina’s endurance.
-Peek into the scandalous private lives of the elite, where infidelity and bed-hopping were as common as wine.
-Unravel twisted family trees that defy belief.
-Experience a real-life “Game of Thrones” saga, minus dragons but with plenty of intrigue and challenge Hollywood Medieval inaccuracies where the truth is stranger (and cooler) than fiction!
This isn’t the polished version of Mdina’s (or Malta's) past that most tours deliver. This is the raw, unfiltered truth of a city at war with itself. From the ruthless plague that stalked its people to the families who clawed their way to power through cunning alliances and betrayals, every step you take echoes with Malta’s most turbulent era and so crucial for the island's future!
And when you reach the ramparts, gazing out over Malta from the vantage point its nobles once guarded, you’ll see the city not as a relic, but as a stage of medieval mayhem.
So whether you’re a history lover, a culture enthusiast, or simply craving a wicked Wednesday night out, this tour that delivers a one-of-a-kind cultural escape into Malta’s darker side with the right balance of history and entertainment is for you!
Get ready for a night of danger, drama, and secrets. Because in Mdina, the only thing deadlier than the plague… was the gossip and the families that Made Mdina Great!
