Golden Bay

This is the largest and most popular of the three north-west Malta beaches (the other two being Ghajn Tuffieha and Gnejna). Golden Bay is situated amongst pristine undeveloped countryside and, despite its popularity, it still gives the sense of a hidden exotic cove. The sand here is as good as it gets...fine clean particles, plentiful and a beautiful light cream colour.

Having a good wide and deep size to it, there is also comfortable space for ongoing sport activities like beach volley and beach football. All necessary amenities are present including a restaurant, snack bar, umbrella and deck chair hires and all sorts of water sports activities. The five star Radisson Golden Sands hotel stands grandly on one side of the bay and its close proximity is ideal for those interested in availing themselves of fine dining facilities.

Even after the spectacular sunset hours, the evening is still a hive of activity. Be it family barbeques, student beach parties or a group of friends relaxing around a small fire, Golden Bay offers an ideal night spot under a star filled sky.

Access is great and swimming is for the most part safe. When bathing should be limited to shallow waters due to occasional underwater currents, this is signalled with a red flag.
