Consistently top quality. Interiors are chic and full of character but the place takes on a new life in Summer with its outdoor verandah hanging over the sea. Seafood is their speciality here.
The Barracuda restaurant must be one of the longest surviving successful fine dining restaurants in Malta. The fact is that the Barracuda restaurant combines a number of magical ingredients; located in a prime upmarket area on the popular St Julians sea front, housed in one of the most picturesque historic buildings on the island, elegant and welcoming interiors, magnificent unobstructed views of the dreamy Mediterranean and bustling St. Julian's, top-notch service and one of the freshest and tastiest menus around. Oh, there is also the feel good factor of knowing that you are dining in a place where the likes of David Beckham, Madonna, Claudia Schiffer and Omar Sharif have tickled their taste buds.
Entering into the imposing 18th century limestone building (standing so seemingly precariously above the punishing sea), you immediately feel at home in the elegant and contemporary brown interiors of this expertly converted drawing room. Following an aperitif in the bar area and the chance of viewing a handy fresh fish display, you are led to your table (reservations are recommended). Throughout the extended Maltese dry summer months it is a must to dine out in the open air terraces with views of the Mediterranean and usually enjoying a comforting sea breeze.
As its name implicitly implies, the Barracuda Restaurant's cuisine leans keenly towards seafood options, especially Mediterranean fish and shellfish specialities. Prices for this distinctive fine dining experience are also reasonable, which is another reason why you'll have a smile plastered across your face at the end of a very rewarding evening.

'We had a magnificent meal in this stunning building. We were greeted by friendly professional staff and seated at a table with a stunning scenic view. Barracuda Restaurant is contained in a beautiful traditional Maltese building in a stunning part of Malta. Our meal of fish and meat was superb, as were the starters and wine. 'My partner and I visited here for dinner on one of our last nights, I am so glad we came. The food was incredible, the wine selection is huge and the service was exemplary. Ali and his team seem to really care about the service they provide, they even ordered us a taxi when we finished. If you’re looking for a nice dinner that you can dress up for (with great views!) then this has to be it.'
