Il-Merill restaurant is a true find and a little gem in Sliema. This little restaurant is tucked away in a quiet street but only just a minute's walk from the popular Sliema seafront with its busy shops, cafes and promenade. The proud owners, Patrick and Melanie, are a couple who run Il-Merill restaurant with a true passion. Patrick makes sure that the magic happens in the kitchen while Melanie offers genuine hospitality to diners thanks to the intimate nature of the restaurant.
The food at Il-Merill includes a number of traditional Maltese dishes, each one freshly prepared by Patrick. His passion shines through each plate from presentation to taste. Hearty portions of rabbit, octopus, bragoli (beef olives) and platters of typical Maltese produce are all such examples. These are complemented by a selection of international dishes ranging pasta, seafood and meats. Daily specials are normally available and these range from the daily catch of fish to dishes containing the freshest market produce. Desserts are also a speciality of the house as they are all home-made and also based on a daily specials concept.
A memorable dining experience is about the food but it is also about the restaurant atmosphere and general service. Melanie fully capitalises on the intimate nature of the restaurant and, whether you are a first-time diner or a loyal client, you are always welcomed with a smile and served efficiently and as a friend.
Il-Merill is open daily from Monday through to Sunday for dinner. Bookings are advisable due to the limited size of the restaurant.
