Description
Meet directly at the dive site and listen to a short briefing to ensure everyone feels prepared before entering the water. During this briefing, be introduced to the equipment, the route you will follow, and the types of marine life you may encounter. Safety procedures and simple techniques for navigating in the dark will also be explained, so you know exactly what to expect once you enter the sea.
All participants will be provided with snorkeling equipment, including a mask, snorkel, fins, and a waterproof torch. The torch plays a central role in the experience, allowing you to explore the underwater environment in detail. Its beam reveals hidden creatures, textures, and movement, transforming the darkness into a focused, almost cinematic view of the sea. Each participant will carry their own light, creating a calm and visually striking atmosphere beneath the surface.
Entry into the sea is done directly from land. There is no boat involved, you will swim out from the shore and return the same way. This keeps the experience simple and grounded, while also allowing you to stay close to the coastline where much of the marine life is active at night. Once in the water, move slowly and stay together as a group, scanning the seabed, rocks, and crevices with your lights. The guide will be showing you all the interesting creatures they spot which you might miss!
Spend approximately one hour and a half in the sea. This is the ideal amount of time to explore without feeling rushed or fatigued. Night snorkeling is not about distance, it is about observation. Moving slowly and staying aware of your surroundings allows you to notice details that would otherwise be missed.
During the snorkel, encounter a range of fascinating marine life. Rays can often be seen gliding silently across sandy patches, while moray eels peek out from their rocky homes. Octopus are a highlight, skillfully blending into their surroundings and changing color as they move. Cuttlefish are equally captivating, displaying shifting patterns and textures across their bodies as they communicate and react to light.
Beyond these larger creatures, there is a whole world of smaller life that becomes active at night. Tiny crustaceans, resting fish, and subtle movements across the seabed all add to the experience.
At the end of the session, swim back to shore together and exit at the same point where you entered. The pace remains relaxed throughout, ensuring a safe and enjoyable return.
