Qawra Point Beach (Ta' Fra Ben)

The Qawra Point Beach, more commonly known amongst locals as Ta' Fra Ben due to a long standing establishment perched above it, is located right in the corner of the seaside coast road leading from Bugibba to Qawra and just past the Malta National Aquarium and adjacent Cafe del Mar.

The rocky beach is popular with locals who have their summer residence in the area as well as the many tourists who flock to the seaside resort. The Qawra Point Beach is easily accessible and parking is not usually a problem unless a really busy time of the year such as Sunday's from July to September. The ground is mainly rocky with some areas covered in pebbles.

Thanks to a mini peninsula that protects the bay, the one thing that stands out at Ta' Fra Ben is that the sea is nearly always calm even when anywhere else in the area is experiencing choppy waters. This makes it a firm favourite with families as well as swimmers looking for a good stretch of calm waters to stretch their arms.

The jutting peninsula also has a naturally formed (well, with some human intervention too...) shallow rock pool that is a great place for kids to play and snorkel.

The Qawra Point Beach club has onsite guards, kiosks selling refreshments as well as on a cabin renting deckchairs and umbrellas.
