Although relations between Britain and France were fractious in the past, French style was always admired by the British and had a large impact on art and design in Britain. The great changes King George IV made to Windsor Castle in the 1820s sought to outdo French interiors. Our lecturer Oliver Everett, Librarian Emeritus at the Royal Library of Windsor Castle, will show us how much the French influenced the British Collection. Join us on 27 April at 6.30 pm at the Méridien St. Julien's Hotel and Spa.
